Community Outreach

I believe that Community Relationships and Benevolence go hand in hand. The bible reminds us in Matthew 26:11, that “The poor you will always have with you”. Not all who benefit through this ministry are poor in financial resources, some are poor in spirit, and some are poor in companionship.

When one comes to the Church for assistance, I believe that often we are the person’s last resort. With no family or friends to aid in a desperate situation, we become that last resort. This gives us an opportunity to speak the ‘gospel’.

Pre-pandemic, this ministry offered and sponsored events such as weekly bible studies in a local community center, the tent meetings on the grounds of sister congregations. These events not only afforded an opportunity to reach out and minister to the community at large, but also brought together the community of believers for an evening of social interaction and recognition.

Organizations such as social services, denominational congregations as well as sister congregations, have contacted us for assistance in one form or another. Most often, when an applicant does not meet the criteria of social services or exceeds the plausible limits of others.
