Eastern European Mission

A message from Jim Black, Regional Director EEM

Summer is just about over for us at EEM and we are excited about what God has in store this Fall! I wanted to give you a quick informal update and thank you for all you do. We are so very thankful for your support and for continuing partnership in this work!

  • Our Spring campaign to provide 725,250 youth and children’s Bibles was a tremendous success! God was incredibly faithful and through our many generous matching fund donors, churches, youth groups and individuals EEM’s “Bibles for Kids” goal was not only met by the end of June, but represented a significant increase over last year. Praise God! If your youth group or children’s ministry would like to get involved with this next year, let me know!
  • In July our team met outside of Nashville, TN to pray, plan, and prepare for the coming Fall season, and we are all very excited about what the Lord is putting before us!
  • In Vienna, our European team has been working harder than ever. They have already completed 62 new publishing projects, a +30% increase over the first half of last year!
  • I’ve been on the road getting to visit with some of the sweetest, most generous people on the planet who love God’s Word, love people, and who LOVE what EEM does in getting the Bible into peoples hands.
  • This Fall our Board will be traveling to Serbia for a meeting with our European team, including the directors from the various regions in Europe and Central Asia. They covet your prayers as they travel and as they encourage our team there.
  • Across Europe requests continue to come in. Total distribution is already over 970,000 – a 15% increase over the same time last year… and there are many more to be delivered between now and the end of the year!
  • There continue to be challenges in Russia and Ukraine due to the war. Please be praying for our team, for our partners there AND for the people! We have more requests than ever inside both Russia and Ukraine, but there are increasing challenges to navigating the complexities brought about by the war. Pray for wisdom AND for an end soon to this horrible war.
  • On Sept. 1st we will kick off our annual “HOPE” campaign! This year we have the opportunity to provide over 1.2 million Bibles. Each Bible already has a destination point… the hands of a precious soul who has asked for God’s Word in their own “heart language”! More on this SOON!
  • While this distribution is more than ever, there are still many more requests than we are able to say “yes” to and, unfortunately, have to say, “not now.” Sharing this work with others is the best way to help us get the word out and involve more in what God is doing around the world!

Thank you for your partnership with us and for all you do to help us share the HOPE of Jesus with so many precious souls!

Jim
